I have to admit - since I had tailored my entire education and experience to work with kids, and since I have quite the knack for the kiddos, I thought working with adults was going to be less than. Less than fulfilling, less than magical, less than challenging.
I was so wrong.
This past Friday, day 6 into this journey I found myself asking...well..myself, "How many transcendent days can one feasibly have in a row?" Between the blues songwriting and the life histories and the connections to music and the tears shed and the singing of not just the patient but the doctors and nurses through bone marrow aspirations...
I am humbled. And so glad to be back at it.
This week I'll be in San Antonio for our region's annual conference and am looking forward to drum circles and learning and networking and music-making and of course, more drumming.
